Create a meal plan with AI
Make a 6-month meal plan in minutes

AI tools are awesome for making spreadsheets.
They’re also awesome for making meal plans. Meal planning is hard because it takes so much time. But the beauty of using AI tools is that you can get 90% of the way there in a very short time.
With GPT-4 Code Interpreter I was able to make a legit paleo meal plan in less than 10 minutes.
Prompt
“I'd like for you to create a meal plan for me. Timeline is 6 months. Let's do paleo. I am 6'1 and weigh roughly 200 lbs. Account for me trying to lose 2 lbs per week. I want a variety of foods. Lots of protein. Not only animal protein. Make it delicious. Include Monday through Sunday. Let's do 2 meals a day, skipping breakfast and really optimizing for dinner. I would like you to assume I am moderately active. Now please make a pretty spreadsheet with all of this information. Proceed without further questions. Thanks.”
Secret hack: Code Interpreter has this funny little thing of stopping before going on to the next step of the process. You should include “proceed without further questions” so that it will go through all of the instructions without having to go back-and-forth several times.
Exploring the models
I first wanted to try this with Anthropic’s Claude 2. It shot out something in seconds and provided several links for me to download.
None of the links worked. Claude also said that if those links didn’t work it would email the output to me, and then it didn’t to that. Total flop.
So I went back to using GPT-4 which still reigns supreme.
Making your meal plan
There are a lot of parameters with meal planning. If I were you I would just copy my prompt and input your:
Age
Weight
Goal
Dietary restrictions
Timeline
Here’s the link to my meal plan in Google Sheets.
